Goal : By the end of this lesson, students will be able to provide a progress report on works in progress using new vocabulary and speech patterns.

 

Vocabulary

- Distirbution rights : 판매권

- reach an agreement : 합의에 이르다.

- final draft agreement : 최종 합의서

 

Dialogue :

T : So, what's the status on negotiation distribution rights with PharmaCo?

S : Well, we had a meeting this past Monday to discuss some outstanding issues on the table. We propsed some terms that we think are reasonable and are now just waiting for them to get back to us.

T : What seems to the issue?

S : The manufacturer doesn't want to give us an exclusive license in Korea. They're trying to play hardball, but out analysts have come up with pretty strong reasons why it would be better to give us exclusive rights.

T : When do you expect to hear back from them?

S : We scheduled a meeting for next Monday, so hopefully, we'll square away any remaining issues then.

T : Perfect. Once you reach an agreement, I want a copy of the term sheet for review before signing the contract.

S : Of course. I'll report back with the term sheet and the final draft agreement as soon as both are ready. That should be sometime at the end of next week.

What tasks have been completed?

- The completed tasks were to analyze market demand for hardware specification, to survey available technology, to finalize product specifications.

 

What actions need to be taken?

- The remaining action item is that we need to negotiate with suppliers for hareware components. Currently, we have a price issue, but we will complete to assemble a prototype and finish testing it to launch finally.  

 

What will the product be ready for launch?

- It will be ready for launch by the third quarter of this year

*What is the status of one of your current projects?

Now we are preparing the type approval in China. The paper works are mostly done. 

 

What is left to be done on your project, and what resoures will be need to perform these remaining tasks.

We need to pre-test the samples before shipping to China. More test engineers are required to finish the test early.

 

By when do you expect to finish the project?

I expect to finish this project by next week.
